Project Summary
Overview
Azibo was a startup that required heavy design involvement from 0 to 1, including developing design systems, graphics, email designs, marketing campaigns, and more. This is the whole package.
0 to 1
As the founding designer I was responsible for designing the product from the ground up. I reported to a design director, and created company design assets. At this startup, I wore many hats.
Impact
I more than doubled the sign up rates after redesigning the onboarding to prevent churn. This included pivoting from different research findings and meeting customer needs to trust the company.
How might we make a banking service for landlords?
We're Starting From Scratch
The challenge here, is to build something from nothing. And the first step is to understand what our leaders at the company are envisioning for the product. We worked with fast visions, pivoting often, and talking to lots of customers that are willing to use our product to get as much feedback as possible.

Redefining The Product
No design system or patterns. We started out with a simple dashboard. The landing pages were already designed by an outside agency, but my job here was to enhance the overall experience from both visual and usability perspectives.
Tackling Dropoff - Reading Metrics
There was significant dropoff right after login during the onboarding phase. Using google analytics, you can see that we had huge churn after sign up. Looking at google analytics, we noticed that out of 41k sessions, we had 19k dropoff.
I noticed that users were dropping off at bank account linking. To dive deeper on why this dropoff happens, I had to interview and reach out to users that didnt finish signing up.
Redefine The Sign Up Method
Instead of having users drop into an app with no data, I proposed a dynamic onboarding for users to be able to select their intentions before signing up. This way, users are not confused with nothing on the landing page.

Final Delivery
Redesign the experience so that users are able to onboard with specific intentions. Dynamic onboarding allowed users to follow a flow depending on their selected interests.
My Impact Within 1 Year
Within a year, I've increased tenant and landlord onboarding with more trust. We had a steady rate but after implementing the new onboarding process, we were able to achieve more signups over time.
