Project Summary
Overview
Reporting requires multiple revisions and cooperation from multiple teams to generate a 10k / 10q document. The opportunity we have here is to help accountants with creating an automated service to consolidate files into one central place. We needed to build an excel style product within FloQast.
My Responsibility
This team consisted of a product manager, engineering manager, 5 engineers, and myself as the product designer. My duties included research, testing, cross collaboration, and QA Testing.
The Problem And Why It Matters
Accountants need to gather documents from different sources across their company. This could include gathering documents from HR, Sales, Investments, Operations, and many other accounting teams within the company. It can take 2 to 4 weeks to construct a 10k / 10q.
User Journey
Understanding the whole user journey and laying out the process step by step helps us focus on specific areas that need to be streamlined. In this instance, the time it takes to review, and the tedious efforts of obtaining documents.
Ideation
Idea 1
Create a bulk upload system that can intake all excel files into FloQast - and users can edit them on our platform.
Idea 2
An excel plugin that FloQast develops where we can extract data from excel files and send it directly into our platform.
Idea 3
Generate tags to tag documents and upload them into a google drive.

Impact & Results
With 8 partners who signed up for the alpha program, we were able to obtain a signed contract with Ralph Lauren, clothing company. With a span of a year to complete the project, we are already almost a third way from our $1M annual revenue goal from the product at 300k annual returning revenue.
